Goa leg of Nagesh Trophy off to a great start

 Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and Cricket Association for the Blind - Goa jointly organized IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy league matches. Four Teams from Group D Goa, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Odisha played the matches in Goa. IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy was inaugurated by the President of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Mr. Suraj Lotlikar along with other dignitaries, Mr. Jamir Carol, Treasurer of GCA, Chandrashekar K N Treasurer CABI and few other representative from CABI and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.

 

Match 1: Goa vs Rajasthan

Goa won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan were all out for 63 in 9.5 overs. Captain Islam Ali scored 22 of 21 balls and Irfan Ali scored 16 of 8 balls, for Goa Sandhesh Ghode took 2 wickets and Mahesh Annur was involved in 5 run out dismissals. Chasing the target Goa reached the target of 64 runs in 9.4 Overs by losing just 3 wickets. Nilesh Nirgal scored 21 of 32 balls. Goa won by 7 wickets with Mahesh Annur adjudged as the Man of the Match.

 

Match 2: Karnataka vs Odisha

Karnataka won the toss and opted to chase. Odisha scored 140 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Sukhram Majhi scored 62 of 52 balls while for Karnataka Sunil took 3 wickets and inflicted 2 run outs. Karnataka scored 144 runs in 16.3 overs for the loss of 2 wickets to comfortably chase down the target. Prakash Jayaramaiah scored 56 of 28 balls with 10 fours and Bhaskar was unbeaten on 52 of 52 balls. Sunil Ramesh was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
