Karnataka claim bragging rights in the Southern Derby

Karnataka beat hosts Kerala by 7 wickets to book their place in the semifinals of the inaugural IndusInd Bank Nagesh trophy 2018-19 season. Earlier in the day the visitors won the toss and opted to have a bowl. Sunil and Lokesh struck early and Kerala were two down in no time. A resurgent third wicket stand between Ajesh and Abdul Munaz and a flurry at the end by Maneesh propelled the hosts to a more than competitive total of 177/6 in their 20 overs.

Chasing the target it was an one man show from Karnataka as their wicketkeeper batsman Prakash Jayaramaiah scored an unbeaten century to single handedly win the game with 17 balls and 7 wickets to spare.
