Magical Ajay decimates Jamaica

Jamaica: Trailing one-nil in the series Jamaica won the toss in the must-win game and put India in. The Jamaican opening bowlers justified their captain's decision as they picked up two Indian wickets in a flash. But what followed next was a sight to behold. As Indian captain Ajay Reddy joined forces with Durga Rao, boundaries were hit, centuries were made, the double century was brought up and record books had new names on it. The Indian pair smashed the bowler's hell for leather. The pair stitched together an unbeaten 393 run partnership as India reached 415 for the loss of two wickets before the heavens opened up much to the delight of the hosts who needed hiding after the onslaught they had witnessed. The rain made sure that this contest would now be a 33 over affair with the Jamaicans needing 416 for an unlikely victory.

Chasing a huge target, Jamaica were never off the blocks as they kept losing wicket after wicket. When it is your day you have to make the most of it and that is exactly what Ajay did as he picked up 4 wickets to go with his double hundred. The game looked to be heading towards a quick finish before some lower-order resurgence from the hosts. The target was too stiff and Jamaica were bowled out for 236 in the 32nd over giving India a huge win by a margin of 179 runs. With this victory, India has sealed the series 2-0 with one game to spare. The players are off to a two-day break before the action resumes with the first T20I on Wednesday.
