Defending champions Odisha crash out as Andhra Pradesh seal their place in the last four

Andhra Pradesh put on an all-round performance as they knocked out defending champions Odisha in the quarterfinal of the second edition of IndusInd Bank Nagesh trophy. Batting first Andhra openers put on a 50 run stand before Odisha struck back with two quick wickets. Tandava Krishna then steadied the ship with Durga Rao they put on 132 runs for the 3rd wicket.  Both the batsmen completed their half centuries as the hosts finished with a commanding total of 195/3 in 20 overs.

The score board pressure looked to have got the better of the defending champions as they lost half their side seven overs. Pankaj Bhue then tried to get his team back in the contest with a valiant 78 but in the end it wasn’t quite enough as Odisha fell short of the target by 18 runs. Andhra Pradesh now face Haryana in the semi-finals at SSE, Bengaluru on January 20th.
