India clinch the series

Colombo: India beat Sri Lanka twice in the double header in Colombo to win the 5 match T20I series 4-1. Earlier in the day India won the toss and they put Sri Lanka into bat. The Sri Lankan batsman struggled from ball one and could muster only a below par total and set India a target of 149. Chasing the modest target the Indians were in a hurry and got off to a flier and won the game with 8 wickets and nearly 5 overs to spare.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 148/9 in 20 overs Chandana 30, Ajay 2/20, Amol 2/27.

                        India 152/2 in 15.2 overs.  Durga 68*, Ajay 37, Naresh 30

   India beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets.

India once again won the toss in the afternoon game and they had no hesitation in bowling first. This time around it was a better batting performance from the Lankans as they scored nearly 10 runs an over and set India a target of 190 runs.

Chasing the huge target the Indian openers had reserved their best for the last as a century from Sunil and half century from captain Ajay Reddy helped the team romp home by 10 wickets and clinch the series 4-1.

The post-match presentation ceremony was attended by Sri Lanka’s world cup winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga who did the honours.
