Colombo: India beat Sri Lanka by 3 runs in the second T20I here today to take a 2-0 lead in the 5 match T20I series. Sri Lanka won the toss and they put India into bat. The Indian batsman got off to a flier and valuable contributions from the middle order propelled the score to 180/8 at the end of 20th over.
Chasing a huge target Sri Lanka made a decent enough start and at one point looked like they would run away with the game. But some brilliant death bowling from the Indians ensured that they finished 3 runs short.
With this win India lead the series 2-0 with 3 games remaining. The world champions would want to wrap up the series when they take the field for the 3rd game on the 23rd where as the hosts will try and stay alive in the series.
